OPPO Joy Plus smartphone Launched in India at Rs 6990

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO Monday launched its new budget device, Joy Plus, in the Indian market, and priced it at Rs 6,990. This new smartphone is said to compete with the likes of the Lenovo A6000, the second-gen Moto E, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 along with few other devices of the same price range.

The Joy Plus smartphone features a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 480×800 pixels which comes to around 234 pixels per inch. It has a MediaTek MT6572 Dual-core 1.3GHz processor, 1 GB RAM and 4GB ROM which is expandable upto 32 GB with a microSD card.

Speaking about the design of the Oppo Joy Plus, it comes in a white colour with a Gold Frame. Coming to the camera, the device comes with a 3MP rear camera along with a front camera of 0.3MP. The Oppo Joy Plus’ camera is quite disappointing as it has only a 3 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera. Given that the market has a lot of budget options that are offering devices in the same price range with an 8 megapixel rear camera (like Intex Aqua L, Lenovo A6000), the Oppo Joy Plus might have a tough time standing out against the competition.

The smartphone offers a Dual SIM card with 1700 mAh Li-Ion removable battery and runs on ColorOS 2.0 based on Android 4.4.
