Lenovo has just launched the latest in its A-series of smartphones, A5000. The device has only been launched in Russia for now. It has also been spotted on the UAE site of the company. It has been priced at RUB 12,000 (roughly Rs.14,500). It is not known when the smartphone will hit other markets. At present, the only Lenovo A6000 and A7000 are available in the Indian market.
On the flip side, the smartphone might just support 3G connectivity with no 4G LTE support, as suggested in the official listing of the Lenovo A5000. Connectivity options will include 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. The company also proclaims that not only the smartphone’s Quick Charge feature allows the battery to get fully charged in 3 hours, it also offers up to 4 hours of talk time with a 15-minute charge.
Coming with a 5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen (with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution), more than 300 dpi and 16 Million colors, the Lenovo A5000 has a 1.3 GHz Quad Core [MediaTek MT6582] processor as its engine. Special nano coating makes the screen A5000 resistant to liquid splashes. At dimensions: 71.4 x 9.98 x 140 mm, the phone weighs about 160g which isn’t very light weight. Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the phone packs 1 GB RAM, internal memory: 8 GB with MicroSD support up to 32GB.It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash while there is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera also on board.It has been listed in the colors black and white.
India too, can soon expect the launch of the Lenovo A5000 smartphone which will be aimed at affordable section and 3G users. On the other hand, the new Lenovo A6000 Plus and Lenovo A7000 handsets with LTE support has already been launched in India.
